OK, its happened. I’ve survived my first winter in 16 years. After moving from the land of endless summer I now understand the true joy of spring. Once upon a year ago in my San Diego home, spring was same as summer as was winter. Having just lived through the long cold days of barren East Coast winter I GET IT. Now I see the deep seeded carnal need for greenery, for a peekaboo of life through the dreary branchy woods, the happy splash of colorful flowers along the horizon of the yard.
I was honored to be asked by Monica at Monica Wants It to participate in the Home Tour. Even more so, a reason to go buck wild filling my house with florals and greenery. Husband, its not for me, its for the home tour!
Hello if you’ve joined me from the darling Jeweled Interiors. If we have not had the pleasure to meet yet, please do follow along on Instagram and learn more about my story here. When you are all done walking through our Boston suburb home make sure to visit the next stop on the hop at House Haus Home.
THE VIBE
This spring I am inspired by the movie Emma I happened upon watching with my sister the other day. English Gardens are so textural and romantic. Images of stacked pots, old aged urns, and patina’d vessels filled with ivy, ferns and dainty flowers. Overgrown flower beds with wild snapdragons and abundant greenery. Here’s my attempt to bring a little British garden charm into our life.
So please, welcome to my New England home ready to host our family through our first spring.
DINING ROOM
My Dining Room is the main focus of our living space with its large scale mirror and dramatic chandelier. They serve as the glam backdrop to my English Garden inspired decor. The potted look on the table is a great vibe to try if you fear creating your own floral arrangements. Instead of spending money on expensive blooms consider investing in a few pots and planting with inexpensive plants that can last much longer. Add a few dashes of greenery paired with single bloom stems for a couple of softer romantic moments.
FAMILY ROOM
Coastal blues pop in my otherwise neutral family room. I am one of those crazies who has two young children and chose white couches anyway. A girl wants what she wants. I love adding pink flowers with abundant greenery to this palette. Today I’ve gotten bunches of greenery to accent pink snapdragons and white freesia.
KITCHEN NOOK
Our next project to work on is our kitchen, but we have recently built a kitchen bench. Our family lives in this sunny corner. Can you forgive me that its not even painted yet? Soon enough I’ll have full kitchen to share. We plan to extend length of cabinets and refinish them, replace counters, and paint the whole space. In the meantime loving our first sunny change to our kitchen space.
MASTER BEDROOM
I vamped this room up in October when I participated in the One Room Challenge. When I bring additions to this room I like to keep it simple and let the wallpaper shine. The wallpaper design feels spring-like to me with its birds and trees. Here I just bring in a pretty potted orchid and a bunch of greenery.
Lets be honest, I have kids, and truth be told in the middle of this photo session the power went out for days due to the Nor’Easter. So, with my sweet doggy and twinsies running around making entertainment within my photo frames, I had to limit the extent of this photo tour. I loved joining a tour that speaks to a year-long decorating style for me. Not just for this tour or spring, I can honestly speak to the joy of adding greenery to your home. I have tropicals sprinkled through my home all year long. Often purchased inexpensively from Home Depot. If you ever wonder if you can keep something alive, go buy and try. You can do it!! And if you can’t well, it was 12$ at Home Depot right??
Thank-you SO much for taking a moment to peek into my house. I’ve only been here since November, so if you stay tuned I promised to share so much more as we add layers, renovations, and lots of love to this old house!

Jenny you have such a light and bright and cheery home! Love your fresh greens, they are what get me through the winter too. The bones of your house are SO pretty, I hope you are having fun making this new house your home! I’m in the Boston area too, nothing like trying to photograph for a spring tour when there are two back to back storms and no power for days! 🙂

I am totally new to your site, and wow! I love all the natural light you get, it feels just right with all the whites and light colours you’ve got going on. Your bedroom has got to be my fave though – totally digging that wallpaper and the bed frame. Happy spring!
Thank-you so much Ariel! The house does all the heavy lifting in the design department, pretty old bones in this house. 🙂 LOVED getting to know you on your blog today as well. Happy Friday & Happy almost Spring!
Plants are always my favorite, so pretty against your neutral background. I love it!
Beautiful design and another perfect example of a spring neutral home! Love the use of flowers/plants throughout your home. Oh…and your coffee table…it’s been on my wishlist and now I want it even more! 🙂
OK, I’m going to second your sentiments of crossing paths because I’m freaking smitten with the rich character and texture of your home—such a great vibe!!! You’ve got a killer design eye girl. Let’s flock back to San Diego together. 🤘🏻
Wow! You’ve done so much in just a few short months. Your home is so beautiful and inviting! Love the drama of the mirror and chandy in the dining room and your living room couches paired with the cane chairs are lovely. Really, I loved every spot. I’m so glad you were part of this blog hop! can’t wait to see more.
Jenny, your home is amazing and I am so happy I pressured you into doing this tour… 😉
I love how you mix traditional and modern so effortlessly. It’s simply good, fabulous design.
Jenny! Your home looks SO beautiful! I love your table and buffet styling and that gold coffee table! Your master sort of reminds me of mine with the black and white wallpapered accent wall, but yours is definitely inspiring me to lighten the wall color a bit! Something I’ve wanted to do for awhile now. Gorgeous home….love it all 🙂
